How I Shone at Polyfest!!!

On Wednesday ,the 5th of August Corinna School had their Polyfest Concert. We performed at a lovely church, called Hosanna Church in Cannons creek.

There were different kinds of cultures that performed. There were Contemporary Maori, Senior Samoan, Junior Samoan & the Cook Island group (That was mixed with Cambodian).

I was in the Senior Samoan group. When we walked on the stage all we could see was hundreds and hundreds of people sitting in front of us, along with the cultural groups that had already performed.

I shone at polyfest when I stepped up to be a leader, helping the juniors with their actions so they didn't get muddled up. I had to show them how to sing loud and proud.

When we were performing in front of the audience we felt strong & proud of each other. We had stepped out of our comfort zones to present this Item for them but also others were shy and were starting to get a bit confident to make sure they were being a part of the group.

I also shone when I was using my best self managing skills by staying focused during the performance & not getting distracted by anyone near me.

When I walked off the stage seeing my parents, proud of my performance, I felt very proud of myself and I almost cried. It was tears of joy. I can’t wait for Polyfest in 2 years!!!.
