Maths Learning Story!

In maths I have been learning to solve maths problems quickly by using my mathematical skills and using what I already know to help me make connections.

When I am using mathematical skills I am using my prior knowledge of other strategies I can think of, for e.g Multiplication. I know my times tables so I can use my knowledge of Families of facts to help me solve division problems.

When I'm using what I already know to help me make connections I am thinking back to when I had maths with Taiki e.g we were multiplying tens and ones, here are is an example of what maths I did.

13 x 18 = (10 x 10) + (10 x 8) + (3 x 10) + (3 x 8) this is the strategies we use to help us solve multiplication problems with bigger numbers.

Here is a link to my maths practice document I made!

MATHS PRACTICE!

When I'm solving maths problems I can be confident, Take risks & have a go. I am confident to share ideas with the whole class when my group is stuck on what we did I can explain it by saying First, Second & Third.

I can take risks every time I don't know the answer e.g When my teacher asks me to share our ideas and I have no clue what the answer is then I just think in my head, think of a answer I could say then just take a risk and say it because I might be right.
